Camp Wines were created by the Hobo Wine Co. in 2011 to showcase the quality and value of Sonoma County wine. We work with top growers and vineyard managers in very high quality and responsibly farmed, though lesser known, vineyards throughout Sonoma County (and now Men- docino) to produce delicious, approachable, and affordable wines.
Like Hobo, the Camp wines employ native yeasts and malolactic bacterias for the primary and sec- ondary fermentations without the use of commercial fermentation aids or additives. The wines are aged in real oak barrels and/or stainless steel tanks vs. alternatives or flavoring agents.
The 2019 Zinfandel is 87% Zinfandel, 10% Carignane, and 3% Barbera all from the Maria Martin- son Ranch. Each lot was fully destemmed, leaving whole berries in the stainless steel tanks to pro- mote a more fruit-driven, less extracted wine. Aging was in a combination of 3-8 year old French oak barrels. Ever bright and juicy, this Zin is fresh and satisfying without any heavy jammy, overripe characters that so often drag Zinfandel down.
